Hello :)
Hope you had a good weekend! I've been working
on...blogging! The Fall collections are rolling in and I was thrilled
when this Dior Vernis package showed up. Dior is ushering in the Fall
season with these Limited Edition shades that "flaunt precious
iridescent colors". I'll start with what I believe is Dior's first foray
into magnetic nail polish. This collection is available now on
Dior.com and Dior counters worldwide. Mystic Magnetics retails for $26, Mystic Metallics are $24.
I found this shade to be hypnotizing! It's blue, grey and hints of green depending on the light and how your hand is moving. I've never liked a magnetic polish like I like this one. I used Dior ridge filler base coat and no top coat here.
The application is both simple, and tricky...until you get the hang of
it. Apply one coat to each nail and let dry. Then apply your second coat
one nail at a time. Immediately after second coat goes on, hold the
included magnet as close as possible over the nail surface but be
careful it doesn't touch (yes that happened to me multiple times, I had to re-do it)
You can see on my Index finger, I didn't have the method down pat yet, and the wave pattern didn't emerge fully. I decided to leave it like that so you could see, it still looks good even if you decide not to use the magnet for the pattern.
Dior Galaxie - a rich plum/cranberry shade if that is even possible. The pink shimmer is apparent and this is showing you ONE coat. That's right, this was a one-coater for me. Lovely. I used Dior ridge filler base coat and Dior Gel Coat top coat for Galaxie and Destin swatches.
Dior Destin - a pink toned taupe with silver shimmer. I have on two coats here. The formulas for all three of these are great, however, Destin shows brush strokes easily, so use a light hand on the second coat and swipe down in as straight a line as possible.
What do you think? Perfect transition into Fall shades, I think. And that magnetic is the first one that I've tried that I will actually wear again.

ReplyDeleteThese are pretty. Personally, I was never really into magnetics, and I'm a bit surprised to see Dior doing one so late in the game, but it does look pretty on you!! The other shades are perfectly fall!

I can't believe this is their first magnetic polish as well! I thought that tend was totally over, but it does look great! Galaxie is my favorite in this post!
