Review plus giveaway here: Hand Perfection review.

Tweezerman Products

Tweezerman is so on top of their game. They have long since been my only choice in tweezers, but I have recently discovered they are now my top choice in nail care items as well.

I was thrilled to be accepted to their ambassador program and extremely impressed with the initial nail kit I received. The products came in a very useful and sturdy portable storage case.

I have been waiting to write this review until I was able to use all the items. And wouldn't you know it, a few hours after I started feeling like I really needed to sit down and try all these out....I smashed my toe and cracked the whole corner off my toe nail. JUST the opportunity I needed to get out my new nail kit. :P I loved both of the files on the left, having a medium and course side..they are perfect for toe nails. Not ideal for my thinner fingernails. The files on the right are finer and well suited for finger nails. To the right of the files are the "Pushy" for cuticles and the "Ingrown toenail file".
These are the left side of the tools. Ingrown file in the back, Pushy in the front.
The right side of the tools. Ingrown file in the back, pushy in the front. The cuticle pusher is the best. I have 2 others and I will use this one from now on. High quality, sharp but not too sharp that it cuts or scrapes. While I do not have any ingrown toenails, this features an ingrown file to help relieve the pressure of ingrown nails and a thin, curved end to clean under and around the nail, and that worked perfectly.
Satin etched zebra stainless steel clipper set in the front. Holy moly!! How awesome are these??? Set comes with  curved fingernail clipper and straight-edge toenail clipper. Both work perfectly and feel solid in your hand. The ONLY thing I would think to alter is to make a part of it with a grippy material so your hand doesn't slip. But I wouldn't want to give up the etched zebra pattern for it ;)
The satin etched zebra cuticle nipper on the left is fantastic. It has their signature perfectly aligned, hand-filed precision blades and, um, it's gorgeous. The zebra etching is so cool :) The sky-line slant tweezer is the absolute best. The perfectly aligned, hand-filed tips are slanted to grab every hair and I don't even bother using any other anymore! Did you know they will sharpen your tools for free??
From left to right:  Premium Emory Board - Pack of 5 thin wood files,  Eco Friendly File - For medium sanding on acrylic nails and for filing edge on natural nails, 100% biodegradable, Ultra durable.Sansation Nail File - Reinforced center for durablility and strength.  Durable, washable, and sanitizable. Pedro Callus Stone - Superior quality two-sided ceramic stone with a rough side for reducing calluses and a fine side for smoothing skin.  Strong, sturdy handle for optimum control.  Washable.
I am very pleased with this callus stone!! It worked better and with less effort than the last two I have tried.
Just for comparison, the tweezerman is in the back with a coarse and fine side, dr scholls in the center is horrid...it actually cut my feet, and the Diamancel I sadly paid $38 for and it is an awkward shape and is no where near as effective as the tweezerman.

You can find these products at the tweezerman website which is well designed and easy to navigate! http://www.tweezerman.com/

Soft Landings Towels

I was pleased to receive a sample of these "softies" towels to share with you! According to their own information: Soft Landing Towels are a must have in the professional spa and beauty applications. It is lint-free, traps dust, durable, soft to the touch, looks and feels professional and 100% contamination free.  You can find them at www.softlandingstowels.com  and https://www.facebook.com/softietowels

I have used them for nail polish removal and to dry my already polished nails after washing..when I want to take pics and not have any lint left behind. But I think my favorite use for these are to clean the bottle necks of the polish when it gets dried polish on it. These are GREAT for that!!! I think the shape of these (also you can cut it down to the size you need) and the fact that they don't leave cotton strands behind make them very useful :)

Take a look!

I will definitely keep a bunch of these in my "supplies" basket!
You can find them at www.softlandingstowels.com  and https://www.facebook.com/softietowels

Dermelect Luxury Foot Treatment
This review is long overdue. I wanted to make sure I gave the product a significant trial before I recommended it to you.

This is a great product. Description from Dermelect:
"An action-packed tube of foot-soothing luxury makes skin noticeably softer and silky after your first application. Ideal for anyone looking to repair, nourish and revive tired feet. Beautifully enriched with natural soothers Argan Oil and Shea Butter, anti-inflammatory Arnica, moisture locking Hyaluronic Acid, and exfoliating hydroxy acids. Skin is left supple without producing oiliness and no greasy film- just moisture. All natural scent! It goes on smoothly, soaks in quickly and no sticky or oily residue. Has a wonderful peppermint scent with a slight refreshing tingle upon application."

I will be honest, since I started blogging, my feet have been neglected. I need like superhero foot care. This works great to moisturize and soften for sure and I definitely recommend it. It is pricey though at $25 for 4.0 fl. oz. Shop at dermelect.com

Tweezerman Designer Series - Cynthia Rowley

As part of my participation in the Tweezerman Ambassador Program I am lucky to sample many great Tweezerman products. As you may know from my earlier review, I think Tweezerman puts out consistently high quality products. I'm pleased to say, they also know how to put the fun in it. Which is exactly what this partnership with Cynthia Rowley is. Shop for Tweezerman products at http://www.tweezerman.com/

Their classic slant tweezer with a fun pattern! The perfectly aligned, hand-filed tips are slanted to grab every hair, it's the only tweezer I use. I also use it often to help me lift tiny striping tape while doing nail art! Did you know they will sharpen your tools for free? Love that it also comes with a little cap to keep them protected and clean.

I adore that this comes in it's own carrying case. It's horrible when your nail file scratches and snags things in your bag. I have this in my bag and would use it in an emergency, but it really is too course for normal use for me. Great for toenails though.

  2. Thank you so much Kelli, very sweet of you to say. I will be posting more of the hand and nail creams and such that I use as well. But for now, let me just tell you that it's a combination of good genes, hand lotion (right now I'm loving Burt's Bees Shea Butter hand repair cream - but be prepared it has a strong smell!) and a little help from photo editing :) I do smooth out my hand skin for those up close photos!!

  4. Hi, I was wanting to ask you something. I just started getting obsessed with nail polish. My nails are not long and are weak and brittle but my biggest concern is how hard, rough, and peely the skin is around my nail. I tried looking it up and most sites said they were hang nails but I do not think that is the case. I wish I could show you a picture. Like ok, where my thumb nails are, the skin to the right and left of the nail is always cracking and peeling and it's sometimes really hard. For my other nails, the skin is not hard but it does peel and it just does not look good. I have a really nice cuticle oil that I use but that does not help the actual skin. Any suggestions as to what this is? Is it just dry skin?

    1. Nicole- this is totally late, but I just saw this post and had to share. I know exactly what you're talking about. I've dealt with hard, splitting, bleeding skin around both of my thumb nails for YEARS and recently found a cure that works for me: every night I slather on a good layer of Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Butter and Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. It has saved my hands! I notice that if I skip a couple of nights, the dry skin comes right back, so I'm positive that the change has been from this routine. I bought them both at my local grocery store, but I've seen them in virtually every drug store I've been in. Good luck to you!

  5. Hi Nicole! Honestly, I really have no idea if it's only dry skin. Perhaps you should see a dermatologist if you have found nothing helps it. When my boys were tiny and had dry cracking skin I used Aquaphor (http://www.amazon.com/Eucerin-BEIERSDORF199653-Aquaphor-Healing-Ointment/dp/B000NN7FXO/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1354301057&sr=8-13&keywords=aquaphor) on them twice a day. It helped A LOT. Maybe try that? Best of luck. Let me know how it goes :)
