365 Days of Color swatches and reviews

I have two lovely polishes by 365 Days of Color to show you today. These can be found at Sanaz's Big Cartel shop and retail for $8 and $4.50 for the mini.

I was able to pick 2 from the Travel the World collection. I chose Bora Bora because that is where I want to go (and it's beautiful) and Concrete Jungle because that is where I live, NY (and it's beautiful).

Bora Bora is  baby blue cream with pink shimmer in it. It is just so pretty! Concrete jungle is filled with metallic glitters, silver, gunmetal, copper and brown, representing the big skyscraper buildings seen in the New York Skyline! Very cool.

Application of Bora Bora, for me, was challenging. I'm not sure if it didn't agree with my base coat, or what, but it was streaky and patchy. I needed 4 coats! Once I topped it with 1 coat of Concrete Jungle whose application was just fine, and Seche Vite, it looked perfect though.

Are you a fan of Indie polishes? I'm head over heels :)

Hope you are having a great weekend!

*DISCLOSURE* These mini bottles were sent to me for my honest opinion and review. My loyalties are always to my readers first and foremost.

Abstract Nail Art Challenge - Recreate fav - laser stripes

Today brings us to the last challenge of this series. It was really fun, and so great to participate with these lovely and creative ladies. So glad I got to join them for this! <3

It was very hard to pick just one to recreate, but I ended up with Emily from The Lacquerologist's Day 10 Stripes because, I loved it obviously and I've never done it before!

I used China Glaze base, and 2 coats of the following colors: Ride the Waves, Papaya Punch, Tree Hugger, Sexy in the City and Hang-Ten Toes. China Glaze fast dry top coat, then I placed my striping tape and painted over it with 2 coats of Zoya Trixie. Carefully pulled off the tape and TA-DA. Stripes! Topped off with Seche Vite.

I admit, I often don't manage to to my "other" hand, but this is one that is easy enough to do and I like it that much that I think I'm going to go for it and paint the other hand with laser stripes too.

Laser stripes! Oh yeah!

I hope you have checked out the amazing designs the other ladies came up with and have already followed them as well. They all consistently post great nail art and inspire me all the time! :)

Abstract Nail Art Challenge - New tutorial (leopard manicure)

One of the many things I love about nail art is that you can see a design posted by someone, be inspired and recreate it exactly, or look at it and recreate it by making it your own. I have never been a fan of animal print, but lately...with the help of Sarah from Chalkboard Nails, I decided to give it a go. She has done many versions of the leopard mani but the last two: Rainbow Leopard Skittles , and Denim Leopard  which includes a video tutorial pushed me over the edge! Here's my version :)

OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Kiss me on my Tulips, Pedal Faster Suzi
Pink leopard nails oh yeah!
This was really easy to create. Base coat and 2 easy coats of My boyfriend scales walls (maybe my favorite white..ever). Use dotting tool to randomly place light pink spots. Use dotting tool to randomly outline and fill in bare spots with darker pink. Top coat with my lover, Seche Vite. And done!

Looks like I'm going to be hooked on the leopard mani. Thanks again to Sarah at Chalkboard Nails for the inspiration. It's easy, and looks so damn cute. Plus, the color combinations are endless! I even did my other hand and it doesn't look like a 5 yr old did it. Heheheh.

Look for Day 15, the LAST day from this challenge on Friday and please check out what the other lovely ladies came up with!

Lazy Days of Summer - Ombre

Hi polish lovers! I wanted to try out something different for today's Summer ombre challenge and fulfill "Try it out Tuesday" by using polishes I haven't tried yet...well..I think it looks cool, but not exactly how I planned it in my head :/

Polishes from thumb to pinky: A England Camelot, Essie Little Brown Dress, Zoya Richelle, China Glaze Fast Track, OPI Number One Nemesis
 Loose glitter from Michael's
I definitely chose the wrong color for the pinky, and I placed the glitters so that it was more concentrated at the cuticle for the thumb and Index and trickling down to the tip, evenly spaced for the middle finger and the opposite (concentrated at the tip and trickling down towards the cuticle) but that didn't come across in the pics. Also, the black glitters on the black polish didn't show up very well.

I was going for a daybreak to nighttime summer ombre, I think I missed the mark for the theme, but still looks interesting. What do you think?

Please check out the other ladies in this challenge with me:

Have a great day!!

Abstract Nail Art Challenge - Combo

We are blazing through this challenge, only 2 more after this! Hard to believe how fast June is going by, right? Well, this challenge is to combine two of the previous days so I chose Ombre and the bottle splatter which I created for the household item. I still had my "leftovers" from that manicure and wanted to see what else I could do with it. Take a look!

I did my "underwear" of 2 coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge's new Bella Donna. My middle nail is Ciate Stiletto mixed with thinner so it would spray out of the bottle - a Bumble and Bumble re-purposed ;) I added white to lighten and then a bunch of black (and more thinner) to change the shade.
I got the consistency so right for the thumb, that's my favorite! If there is too much polish, it won't spray. If there is too much thinner there are too many large splotches. Once it's in the bottle's super easy. One (maybe two) spray(s) and done :D

I can't wait to try other colors in the splatter...gotta get some more spray bottles :P

Look for Day 14 from this challenge on Wednesday and please check out what the other lovely ladies came up with!

Once Upon A Polish swatches and reviews

Oh I have some pretty polishes to show you today! They are from Kimberly at Once Upon A Polish and retail for $8.50 15ml bottle. (These photos show the mini size.)

King Triton from her description: "Gold hex glitters, holographic golden bar glitters, fine gold and teal glitter. In a clear base". It's the very fine teal glitter that makes this one a stand out for me. Not your average gold glitter!! Soooo pretty :)This is 2 coats. Easy application! I see a stray purple glitter on my ring finger. I think it snuck in there..but I don't mind it :)

Princess and the Pea from her description: "Pink and green glitter in a translucent pink shimmer base." So cute! This is 2 coats as well, no troubles, just had to dab and place a few glitters. They are both topped with Seche Vite.

These are definitely unique, I own nothing like them :) Are you a fan?

Glad to have you reading!

June Bloom Ambassador Box

And now for a break in our regularly scheduled polish program....
I had shopped happily at for quite some time when I heard about their Ambassador program. I applied and was thrilled to get accepted. This is going to be a long post because the June box is filled with awesome products I'd like to share with you! This is my first month's goodie box and my thoughts on all of the products included.

Five Pacifica products which came in a delightfully packaged box inside of the main box.

Pacifica Color Quench All Natural Lip Tint
 From the Bloom description:
For spot-on sheer color and all-day hydration for your lips, Pacifica Color Quench All Natural Moisture Lip Tint is a must-have! Essential fatty acids from avocado and coconut oils keep your lips perfectly moisturized and in kissable condition. Subtle, luminous color and a terrific scent and flavor keep your mood elevated and your face happy. With a 100% recyclable tube and a formula that is free of parabens, mineral oils, and petroleums, this is your next favorite lip tint!
How It Works:
  • Avocado oil protects and rebuilds the lipid layer of lips for a fresh, youthful appearance and softens dry or flaky areas.
  • Coconut oil is an intense conditioner that is long lasting for all-day smoothness.
  • Cocoa seed butter is an emollient that conditions and promotes elasticity.
  • Vitamin E is an antioxidant superstar that protects lips and surrounding skin from the oxidative stress of sun damage and decreases the frequency and severity of skin diseases.
  • Rosemary leaf extract contains protective antioxidants and soothing anti-inflammatory properties.
First off, the packaging on these (and all the Pacifica products) are so pretty!  Blood orange is just the right amount of tint and a yummy smell. I'm not a big lip color person, so these suit me perfectly. The coconut smell is wonderful but a bit strong for me, right under my nose. They moisturize dry lips, don't leave that sticky feeling and only a tiny bit greasy which I've found is the trade off for more natural lip products. I will use these up! I love what's in them (natural ingredients) and I love what's not in them (SPF -- I don't want to eat that stuff!)

Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Body Butter and Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter

From the Bloom descriptions:
An ambrosia of exotic locations – that’s the essence of Pacifica Body Butter in Indian Coconut Nectar. With fragrance notes of coconut and creamy vanilla, this unforgettable scent perfectly captures the intrigue of far away places. This nourishing and moisturizing body butter is free of parabens and glutens, and is 100% vegan.

Tangy citrus for spicy ladies – that’s the essence of Pacifica Body Butter in Tuscan Blood Orange. With fragrance notes of orange, tangerine, raspberry, strawberry, and petigrain, this complex and sophisticated fragrance is great for layering with other fragrances – it adds life and energy whether you wear it alone or paired with another favorite scent. This nourishing and moisturizing body butter is free of parabens and glutens, and is 100% vegan.
How It Works:
  • Shea butter is a rich emollient that keeps skin hydrated and leaves skin soft and supple.
  • Almond oil softens, nourishes, and revives skin.
  • Safflower oil is rich in fatty acids to nourish and hydrate skin.
  • Rose hip seed oil is rich in Vitamin A and stimulates the natural metabolic functions of skin cells.
  • White tea extract is used as a detoxifying agent to clarify and freshen skin.
  • Essential and natural oils lend clear, distinct fragrance notes to perfume and other scented beauty products.
Coconut Crushed Pearl Bronzing Body Butter
From the Bloom description:
Don’t risk overexposure to UV light just to get that base tan you need to look great in your favorite sleeveless blouse or your new summer mini. Just use a dab of Pacifica Coconut & Pearls Bronzing Body Butter to create a healthy, radiant sun-kissed glow. With moisturizers, skin conditioners, and vitamins, this vegan bronzer gives your skin the perfect tan and a touch of shimmer.
How It Works:
  • Glycerin is an effective humectant that binds moisture to skin cells to prevent dehydration.
  • Safflower oil is rich in fatty acids to nourish and hydrate skin.
  • Shea butter is a rich emollient that keeps skin hydrated and leaves skin soft and supple.
  • Sweet almond oil is an intense emollient that hydrates skin and locks in moisture. Considered a natural moisturizing factor (NMF), it helps skin retain adequate moisture levels and binds with the skin’s natural lipid layer to improve its texture and feel.
  • Iron oxides are natural minerals used as non-irritating and long-lasting pigments.
  • Vitamins A, C, and E have antioxidant components to protect skin from damage caused by sun and environmental exposure.
I really like these lotions! Goes on easily, absorbs quickly, smells great, doesn't feel heavy or sticky on the skin, moisturizes and the bronzer leaves an ever so subtle shimmer. My favorite is without question the blood orange even though the coconut is really yummy as well. The blood orange just has the perfect blend of fruity goodness, but it's not too sweet.

Pacifica Island Vanilla Roll-on Perfume

The perfect vanilla – that’s the essence of Pacifica Roll-On Perfume in Island Vanilla. With fragrance notes of florals, fruits, and a lush, sexy vanilla, this dynamic, Tahitian scent perfectly captures the magic of the islands. This perfume is free of parabens and glutens, and is 100% vegan.

How It Works:
  • Natural, pure grain alcohol is a corn sourced and gluten free base for fragrances.
  • Essential and natural oils lend clear, distinct fragrance notes to perfume and other scented beauty products.
I've been making the move to all natural chemical free products as much as possible since being pregnant and this lovely scent fits in well with that as I've pretty much abandoned synthetic perfumes and scents. This doesn't have a very long staying power but I love it and will wear it all summer long!!

Booty Parlor’s Flirty Little Secret Firming Bronzer

From the Bloom description: Booty Parlor Flirty Little Secret Bronze Edition is a stunning multi-tasking formula that creates a golden glow on your skin, attracts the fun crowd, and firms your skin all over. Formulated with a proprietary pheromone blend, this flirty favorite will inspire body-to-body chemistry and make you even more irresistible that you already are. Plus, wheat proteins and skin polishers smooth and perfect your outer beauty. (Please note: Not a sunless tanner.)
Who It’s For: Recommended for all skin types.
How It Works:
  • Tritisol XM firms and tightens skin for a youthful appearance.
  • UGL Complex increases firmness and tone in skin.
  • Pheromones enhance the libido and create a romantic mood.
Suggested Use: Smooth on skin all over body for a sexy glow.

I don't know about the firming claims, I'm generally afraid of bronzers and who knows if the "pheromones" work...but when I came out wearing it, my husband remarked in front of my dad and my kids that I was pretty :D Coincidence? ;)
It smells an awful lot like black tea to me, which is wonderful, I really like the smell! And once I started smoothing it on, I thought for sure this will be a George Hamilton like disaster! But I was pleasantly surprised. I was in fact not at all too orangey and my not sun-kissed skin parts all of a sudden matched my arms which have already seen the hot summer sun quite a bit. Overall? Happy me and I would keep this on my summer must haves list!

Kaia Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths
From the Bloom description:
No matter how late it is, or how tired you are before falling into bed, Kaia Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths will cleanse your skin and remove impurities and makeup without rinsing or water! This four-in-one product performs the combined function of a cleanser, toner, eye make-up remover, and cleansing cloth, leaving your skin feeling refreshed, soothed, and nourished. Formulated with organic Canadian honey and infused with eight pure citrus essential oils and sunflower seed oil, it cleans impurities without leaving behind a tight-skin feeling. These cleansing cloths are so effective that they remove mascara, even waterproof mascara, gently, without tugging and pulling!
If you suffer from sensitive skin, you know that the ingredients found in many “wet wipes” are not always suited for your skin. The beauty of bamboo is that it is very, very soft, unlike rayon (which is what most cleansing wipes are made from, along with wood fibers), which can be rough and can pull on the delicate skin in the eye area or cheeks. Perfect for those with red, irritated, and inflamed skin and those suffering from rosacea, these cashmere soft cloths and gentle cleansing formula will leave skin clean, without causing any aggravation.
Who It's For: Ideal for all skin types, including sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.
How It Works:
  • Bamboo is naturally able to eliminate bacteria, stays fresher and odor-free for longer and is more hygienic and healthier than any other fiber. In China, bamboo fiber is used to make medical gowns, as it is naturally antimicrobial and perfect for a sterile environment. The bamboo used in Kaia Cleansing Cloths is unbleached to keep it free from chemicals.
  • Grapefruit oil tightens puffy skin, reduces enlarged pores and removes impurities.
  • Lemon oil is a powerful astringent and antiseptic.
  • Lime oil has astringent and antiseptic properties and boosts skin circulation and clears congested skin
  • Bergamot oil has antiseptic and antibiotic properties.
  • Mandarin oil has good antiseptic and cell rejuvenating properties.
  • Orange oil nourishes skin and improves skin tone for a healthy, smooth look.
  • Spearmint oil is has antiseptic properties and can prevent pimples and acne.
  • Tangerine oil increase circulation to the skin.
  • Canadian organic honey is an emollient and nutrient with antioxidant and anti-microbial properties with the ability to absorb and retain moisture.
  • Sunflower seed oil is a rich emollient high in linoleic and oleic essential fatty acids and vitamin E.
  • Sodium lauroyl oat amino acids, derived from oats, is an extremely mild cleansing agent.
  • Panthenol is a moisturizer, derived from vitamin B5, with humectant-like properties that aid in skin absorption.
  • Salicylic acid gently exfoliates the skin, reducing sebum build-up.
  • Acacia gum, derived from the acacia tree, is soothing to the skin.
I am super sensitive to smells and this smells so great, and didn't trigger any headaches! Also worked like a charm to clean my face, left it feeling soft and not sticky or greasy. Maybe these will get me to take off my makeup at night! I'm so bad at that. I thought the size was just right, but I didn't have foundation on. I had to rub a bit to get off my waterproof eyeliner and there was a touch of irritation after, which went away on its own. It was no contest between cleaning my face with these, or using a washcloth. I love these wipes and will definitely want to keep these around.

Hope I helped you find some new beauty products to love!
XO, Victoria
