HB Beauty Bar - Orly Secret Society Holiday Christmas Nail Art with Homemade Polish Decals

Press Sample
Hi! Hope your Christmas was wonderful if you celebrated. Thought you'd like to see what was on my nails for Xmas day! I received Orly Secret Society Collection from HB Beauty Bar, and knew I wanted to create a nail art for the holiday with it. Shop for this collection (and much more!) at Say hello to them on facebook, twitter, and Instagram too! :)
I have the entire collection of 6 shades on my nails here, with home made nail polish decals and two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it out. Keep reading after the jump to see pics of this before the top coat. I almost like it better pre-top coat. Let me know what you think.

Zoya PixieDust Carter and Tomoko with Smitten Polish Bifrost Freehand Nail Art

press sample
Ah Christmas Eve! Hope all of my readers who celebrate have a wonderful day today and tomorrow! I've got a quick post, a very nontraditional holiday mani for you today. But I think it's worthy of celebration nails, so let's see shall we?
I have the beautiful Smitten Polish Bifrost, 2 coats, as my base here, and then I painted a stripe of Zoya Carter down the center. When that was dry I used a thinner nail art brush to paint smaller stripes of Zoya Tomoko on either side of Carter. And done. Simple and easy but I love the look!
This definitely feels festive and looks more sparkly in person than the photos are able to show.
What do you think of this one?? Too simple? I often gravitate towards the simple nail art :D

JOY JOY JOY to all you!

OPI Holiday Gift Sets and Take Ten Freehand Nail Art

press sample
Yes, I realize that this post is probably too late for nearly all of you to include in your holiday gift giving. BUT if you are anything like me...a few of you are still searching for the perfect last minute gift. Or would just like to treat yourself to something awesome. I found each and every one of these to be well thought out and nicely packaged, ready to gift and impress. Hard to believe that most of these classic OPI shades, I didn't even own yet, and if I did (or your recipient), it's great to have a backup. *A note on the photography: I was having a heck of a time getting these sets photographed without an intense glare, so I actually grabbed a box and whipped up my own light box. My very first. So these are the first light box pics I ever took! I miss the brightness of my usual photos, but reducing the glare was also a nice change :)
Each Fit To Be Tied set comes with two full size polishes and three glitter hair ties. This set includes The Thrill Of Brazil and Black Cherry Chutney.
 Russian Navy and Polka.Com
Liquid Sand It's Frosty Outside and Emotions
Pack the Essentials includes: Bubble Bath, Tickle My France-y, Big Apple Red, Lincoln Park After Dark and My Favorite Ornament, as well as the treatment Start-to-Finish in the cutest mini train case!

Sweet on My Beau features two soft shades – Alpine Snow and Sweet Heart – and includes a metallic cosmetic bag with bow decal.
Top This includes Top Coat, Matte Top Coat and Snowflakes in the Air an exclusive multi-colored sparkle shade available only in this kit.
Take Ten includes the following lacquers in mini size: Pirouette My Whistle, Alpine Snow, Bubble Bath, Tickle My France-y, You Don’t Know Jacques!, Cajun Shrimp, Big Apple Red, German-icure by OPI, Malaga Wine and Lincoln Park After Dark.

I created a stripe filled, zig-zag freehand (obviously lol) nail art look with every color from the Take Ten set. I just love how they all look together even though my freehand lines leave me itchy for my striping tape.

Dior Diorific Jewel Manicure Duo Golden Winter Holiday 2013

press sample
Hi there! Hope you are well on this weirdly warm first day of Winter! I have the last of my Dior Golden Winter Holiday 2013 collection to show you today. You can see my previous posts here and here. Both include nail art looks. I love how Dior is joining the love affair that is nail art. Though the beaded or caviar look is not new, this is the first time Dior is producing a kit with beads, called Diorific Jewel Manicure Duo. It includes a stunning gold shade 312 (I couldn't find a name) and crystal pearls.

Underneath the black velvet is a clear plastic tray. It's quite easy to understand the instructions (card included) and apply the beads to a wet nails over the tray. The tray collects the excess beads, pour into the funnel and funnel them back into the bottle.
I am one of those beauty lovers who falls hard for presentation and packaging. Yes. I love this.

I wanted to include this photo (previously posted) to show the gorgeousness of this gold. In two coats it completely covered the deep shade of Minuit.
A look at the gold on its own with one nail "jeweled". I was curious how the crystal pearls would look over the nail art vs over the gold alone.
Honestly, I like both looks, but especially over the gold alone. It's hard to see in the photos, but the gold underneath gives a glow from within to the pearls that feels rich, hope you understand what I mean.

This is definitely not an everyday look, but would work for a special day, a party without fail. And it's not at all hard to do.
What do you think? Are you a fan of this look? Do you like a 3D/textured nail?

These are available now on counter and Each Diorific retails for $26 and the Jewel Manicure Duo is $39.

All the best, Victoria

Dior Diorific Vernis Golden Winter Holiday 2013 Freehand Nail Art with China Glaze for Nail It! Magazine

press samples
Hi friends!! Coming to you today with a Holiday feel, mani! I really didn't know what to call these, but I was aiming at creating decorative ornaments. I think they also look like stained glass. I created this design for Nail It! Magazine and you can find these with a mini tutorial on the website right now!
I showed you two shades already from Dior's stunning Golden Winter collection, with an elegant triangle tip mani. Today I have the three Diorific shades I received: Minuit (golden plum), Frimas (sparkling pink taupe) and Winter (subtle sparkly white). Each more lovely than the last. These were created to invoke an enchanted Winter feeling inspired by lustrous gold that brings to mind the grandeur of Versailles.
You can always expect the packaging to be luxurious if you are splurging on a Dior!
First shade I'm showing you is Diorific Winter 128 - A shimmery white that has a beautiful subtle sparkle. My photos do not do it justice. I have on 2 coats here, as I knew I was going to add to it and didn't need another coat. You can see with two coats there is still visible nail line. No issues whatsoever with formula or application, as you would expect.

Diorific Winter 128, Frimas 318 and Minuit 995
I used the makeup sponge pictured above to sponge on layers of these three, (over the base of 2 coats of Winter). I adore how this turned out!

A swatch of Diorific Minuit 995 on its own. You can see more of this gorgeous shade previously posted in this elegant nail art look. Two coats of perfection.
A swatch of Diorific Frimas 318 on its own. Two coats shown here, again no issues with formula or application. This is a beautiful shimmering neutral, perfect year round of course.

And, a last look at the nail art I created. This was done free hand, the gold outline is China Glaze Goldie But Goodie and filled them in with China Glaze Red-y and Willing from the Autumn Nights 2013 Collection

All swatches are shown with Diorlisse Ridge filler and Dior Top Coat. Dior Diorific Vernis ($26 for 12 ml/0.40 fl oz, limited-edition) can be found at, and on counters worldwide.

All the best,

Digital Dozen Red, Green Gold Week, Nail It! Holiday Camo Nail Art

press sample
Hello there! Today marks the start of another Digital Dozen theme week. We decided to have a simple tri-color this month in traditional Holiday colors of red, green and gold. This was created specifically for a Nail It! Magazine tutorial (check it out on their website, coming soon!) but it was no accident I used these colors for Digit Dozen week!
I used China Glaze golds, Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle, and FUN Lacquer Decentber and X'mas Tree.

What I loved most about this is the FUN Lacquer X'mas Tree is a thermal and you can see in this photo the change in color. How cool is that?
All the best!
