KBShimmer Fall 2016 Leaf Gradient Nail Art with Whats Up Nails Vinyls

Hello!! Feels so strange to be posting this particular design, Fall leaves, right now...if you follow me on Instagram then you know I was just on a beach vacation! But you also know, Fall collections always like to get the jump on the actual season and come in while we are still enjoying summer. So I'm showing you my Fall inspired nail art with 4 of the 12 KBShimmer Fall 2016 shades which go on sale August 19, 2016
KBShimmer Sweet Devotion - A candy wrapper inspired white crelly with hex and micro slice glitters in blue, red, yelow, orange, green and brown.
Sweet Devotion went on easily and is proof that KBShimmer is one of the original masters of the crelly glitter polishes, that put them on the map of who's who of Indie polish makers! I used 3 thin coats but you could probably get away with 2 thick ones.
OK, I'm just gonna say it right now. I'm IN LOVE with how this turned out. One of my fave designs ever. I couldn't stop staring at them and was of course sad to have to take them off!
I used Whats Up Nails leaves nail vinyls and sponged on KBShimmer Poppy Kisses - A bright, orange toned red linear holographic, KBShimmer Orchidding Me? - A warm purple base that leans fuchsia with linear holo, and KBShimmer Oh My Ganache - A rich chocolate linear holo.
Did I mention I love these?
My base coat is KBShimmer Fillin' Groovy and KBShimmer Clearly On Top is the top coat.
I'm still enjoying the relaxed way of Summer despite the heat, but doesn't this make you long for the shades of Autumn?

Cirque Colors The Manus x Machina Collection - Chalayan Video Dress Nail Art Tutorial

Press sample, Sponsored
Hello lovelies! I'm back with a simple yet (I think!) stunning design using one of the shades from Cirque Colors: Manus x Machina collection and the full Vice 2016 collection. This includes an easy tutorial because the design is so easy to make! If you don't know about this fantastic collection you can read all about it, the inspirations behind each shade, and of course swatches and nail art highlighting each shade: Cirque Colors Manus x Machina
The sort version, this collection was inspired by the materials and production techniques that are explored throughout the exhibit (Manus x Machina) at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. You can still see this beautiful exhibition which explores the dichotomy between handmade (manus) and machine-made (machina) in the creation of fashion. This year's exhibit features over 150 pieces of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear dating from the 1880s to present day. I highly recommend it!
This manicure is inspired by Hussein Chalayan's "Video" dress, autumn/winter 2007-8, Pret-a-Porter
The dress (more images below) is machine-sewn white silk chiffon, heat-set with Swarovski crystals and plain-weave rayon backing; machine-sewn plain-weave rayon, quilted with synthetic batting; machine-sewn synthetic canvas, hand-wired with 15,600 LED lights; machin-sewn cheesecloth backing with hand-stitched electronic circuit boards; black plastic neckpiece; aluminum and resin chest piece with synthetic grosgrain ribbon
15,600 LED LIGHTS. HAND-WIRED. < That is my own dramatic emphasis. Wow. This dress.
The Vice 2016 collection does not disappoint. I used all of them (if you see shades not in bottles, it's because I mixed some a bit)

The manicure begins with Cirque Colors Holdfast Base Coat and 2 coats of Carpe Diem. Once moderately dry I randomly dotted on all 5 of the deliciously bright shades in the Vice 2016 collection.
One shade at a time, I "blended" out using a tiny nail art brush dipped in pure acetone. I just wanted to create edges for the dots that were not so crisp.
After each shade's dots were softened, I made sure the brush was thoroughly clean. Then I moved on to adding acetone to the next shade.
Once the dots and acetone was complete, I added one coat of the Manus x Machina Ultrasonic - A sheer linen-white inspired by designer toiles which serve as working prototypes for finished fashion designs. This foundational shade pays homage to the creative process, providing buildable coverage and a perfect blank canvas for nail art.
This shade is so easy to work with and goes on without any streaking, builds in opacity with each coat, so it's perfect for jelly sandwiches (remember those?), pond manis, and this mani!
 Yep. I love it.
In the photo above I have topped it with Cirque Colors Matte Look Top Coat. This was my favorite!!
The photos of the dress are from the Exhibition Catalogue: Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology purchased from The Met Store

These were so fun to wear and quite easy to accomplish. Please, let me know how you like it and if you are interested in any of the shades, snap them up, because they are all Limited Edition.

Sally Beauty Summer Nails - Get the Look: Product Picks and Smoosh Marble Nail Art Tutorial

I've got a fun post for you today! I got to finally try a new (to me) method of nail art, that is perfect for Summer and so easy to create! I can see why it's become the new trend in nail art! I was thrilled to be asked by Sally Beauty to go shopping and pick out my fave Summer ready products for mani and pedi summer looks! Let me show you what I chose and the smooshed marble nail art I created, I included a tutorial so you can get the look too!If you don't already follow @SallyBeauty on Instagram go take a look and give them a follow. They are always showing off great looks!
Sally Beauty has SO much to choose from for keeping nails and toes pretty. Here are my summer choices, with a trend watch for a few travel ready products for your summer getaway: OPI Retro Summer collection (I had my eye on these for a while so I was thrilled to finally pick them up at Sally Beauty), Heel to Toe Gel Separators (for the must have #summerready pedicure), Moist Hemp moisturizer (yep, travel size so it pops right in the bag to go!), Heel to Toe Peppermint Smoothing Scrub (this smells so great and works so well to slough off dry skin and keep feet looking great), Skin Elements Pure Argon Oil (I use this to give extra care to dry spots on feet and elbows and it's a perfect cuticle moisturizer.), Seche Vite (another travel size, really perfect for vacations where packing space is minimal and you need to be on the go quickly after finishing a new manicure!), Beauty Secrets Nail Polish Remover envelopes (superb for your vacation mani and pedi change - love that there's no risk of leaking into your suitcase!), and lastly I picked up a gentle buffing block for that occasional quick buff to smooth out ridges. I don't do that every manicure as it weakens the nail bed, but maybe about once a month.
Here's the manicure I created. I know summer nails often calls to mind the brightest shades and lots of neon. Which I considered. BUT as much as I love that look for summer, I'm even more drawn to this lovely collection and this retro feel for summer gives me happiness every time I glance down. Plus, it's so easy to create..keep reading and I'll show you just how I did it. I really love how it turned out and was so glad my local Sally Beauty still had them in stock! If you don't follow Sally Beauty on Instagram yet, go take a look, they are always posting great looks and have so many beauty products to choose from!
The pinks: Flip Flops & Crop Tops (The darker pink), What's The Double Scoop?
The oranges: I'm Getting a Tan-gerine(light), SPF XXX
The blue: Sailing & Nail-ing, The yellow: Towel Me About It
 Moist Hemp Moisturizer
 Silk Elements Argan Oil
  Silk Elements Argan Oil
Beauty Secrets Nail Polish Remover Pads
Get the look: Here's what I did - randomly place drops of polish of each shade on a stamping pad. You can use a substitute for a stamping pad if you don't have one! Anything that won't absorb the nail polish and holds its shape would work.
Here I've shown how it works on a nail stick. You can dab at the nail gently with with stamper until you are happy with how it looks. Then do some clean up, as this can get a bit messy, top coat and DONE. Easy peasy.

So there you have it, my summer beauty secrets! Exfoliate, oil and moisturize. Pick a shade or nail art that makes you happy and seal it with fast drying Seche Vite! You can find all your summer ready manicure and pedicure needs at Sally Beauty! Hope you enjoyed my picks and my easy smoosh nail marble art,  maybe try some out for yourself. Please tag me and @SallyBeauty if you do! I'd love to see!

Powder Perfect Bermuda Triangle Trio - Polish Decal Triangle Nail Art

Press sample
Summer is in full swing and I've got a super summery trio from Powder Perfect to show you. And it's just your luck, if you haven't snatched these up yet, they are on sale, right now!!
This collection is inspired by The Bermuda Triangle, a famed “dead zone” between Bermuda, Florida & Puerto Rico where ships, submarines & aircraft mysteriously vanish without a trace! Some pilots report strange weather phenomena, others disappear without even issuing distress signals. While the cause of the disappearances remains unsolved, the Bermuda Triangle is firmly fixed on our paranormal radar.
Well, of course I had to create triangle nail art with this collection!! :P

sienna BYRON BAY Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Press sample, Sponsored
Hello! Hope your week is going well. I had the pleasure of trying out a new to me brand, and now I'll be sharing with you my swatches and review of four shades from Sienna BYRON BAY.
This Australian brand is "... as local as can be, vegan & cruelty free, we use 100% renewable soy, and we source sustainable non-native timbers from our own backyard". It is in fact those charming timber/wood caps that upon opening the package transported me to my favorite spa. The natural smell of the wood is really lovely! About the formula - "Our nail polishes are ‘non-toxic’, meaning they contain No Formaldehyde, No Toluene, No DBP, No Synthetic Camphor, No Formaldehyde Resin, No Xylene, No Tosylamide, and No Benzophenone-1. We’re Vegan and Cruelty Free. We are committed to keeping our products as clean as possible and so continue to update our formula to reflect this." So far so good, right? So I was able to pick my top 4 shades from their collection (tough to do because I love so many! But not surprisingly I gravitated toward the aquas/blues/mint range!

Paint All The Nails Presents Animal Print with Cirque Colors Vice 2016 Collection

Press sample
Hello all and happy summer!! I'm posting last minute over here, to join in with the lovely Paint All The Nails Group I'm in. We decided on an open ended Animal Print this month and I knew I wanted to go outside the leopard box for this one. My boys just finished first grade and we are eagerly looking forward to our vacation and snorkeling in the Caribbean this summer. So in honor of the tropical fishies I bring you my rendition of the Oriental Sweetlips fish!
Here's how I got this done. Two coats of Cirque Colors Carpe Diem then sponged on a gradient of High Roller and Electric Daisy from the Vice 2016 collection. Yes, I love them.
I painted on the stripes and dots with Cirque Colors Memento Mori then used acetone to dilute and give it that au naturale look.
I love how these turned out! Think they match my inspiration well, do you?
Take a look at all the talent in this group!
