Color Club Kaleidoscope and Ruby Wing Summer 2013 Swatch and Review

PR sample
Hello loves!!
Super happy to be showing you my very first Color Club and Ruby Wing polishes today! Can you believe I have never tried this brand before? Shameful, I know, but I am fully hooked now, no turning back. I received 2 out of 6 Color Club shades from the Summer Kaleidoscope Collection and 2 out of 6 of the Summer Ruby Wing Collection as well to review. First of all, let me RAVE about the formula. I was really blown away. Every single one went on like butter, opaque in 1 or 2 coats and very easy to work with. All the swatches shown are 2 coats. Here's where you can shop and find Color Club and Ruby Wing:
Color Club website
Color Club facebook
Color Club twitter
Ruby Wing website
Ruby Wing facebook
Ruby Wing twitter

Color Club Abyss a beautiful vivid green than leans teal. My photos turned out too blue, so I attempted to color correct here. In reality this shade is greener and brighter.

Color Club Bright Night WOW. Bright blue. Really bright blue. I'm in love for sure.

Ruby Wing Groupie Color Changing polish. This one is bright/neon pink, much brighter than it photographed and super pink :)

This is what happens to Groupie when it's in sunlight, or exposed to UV light in my case.

Ruby Wing Summer Love color changing polish. Another super bright shade, this one is less red and more bright orange in reality. My camera had a hard time with these super bright polishes.

Here it is after being exposed to UV light. So super cool. I love these. You can see in the last photo that the UV exposure was wearing off and you have this interesting shading effect.

I feel like I'm the last polishaholic in the world to discover Color Club but I'm so glad I finally have. I can't say enough good about the formula and ease of application for all four of them. Do you already have Color Club/Ruby Wing? Let me know in the comments which are the must haves.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

OPI Couture De Minnie Nail Art

PR sample
Hello! I have another nail design that I'm excited to show you!! OPI asked their Blogger Network if they would like to create a high fashion "Couture De Minnie" nail art to possibly be featured on their Facebook page. Of course I jumped at the chance. Well, they have launched their Couture De Minnie, Minnie's Closet and you can check in each day and see who or what is being featured that day for the month of June! Do you think I'll get a spot?
My look uses all of the shades of OPI's Limited Edition Couture De Minnie Collection in stores now.
Bottle photo: OPI Minnie Style hot pink and white hex glitter.

Bottle photo: OPI Chic From Ears to Tail perfect bubblegum pink
Bottle shot: OPI Liquid Sand Magazine Cover Mouse a red texture polish with gorgeous gold and pink shimmer.
 Bottle photos not seen:
OPI Definite Moust-Have a vibrant coral pink, OPI Innie Minnie Mighty Bow a saturated red with red/gold micro shimmer
The base seen here is my favorite OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the outline on the bow is Nicole by OPI Totally in the Dark. This is all freehand. The hardest part was the Liquid Sand hearts. I wanted them all perfect and it was time consuming!

Here's the image that I based my design from.

These were so girly to have on! I loved them :) And love the whole collection more than I thought I would.

All the best to you!!

Magnum Ice Cream "Good as Gold" Nail Art Water Marble for Styelist

Sponsored post

What comes to mind when you think of "gold"? For me, I think of opulence. I think of richness both monetary and aesthetically. Are you wondering how that translates to ice cream?? I was too until I picked up a box of Magnum Gold Ice Cream bars made with Belgian chocolate. Vanilla bean ice cream with a sea salt caramel swirl dipped in a golden chocolately coating. Totally rich and opulent. Sorry if you are trying to get your diet/beach bod ready (so am I) but these are worth the splurge. SO GOOD. These will be my go to when I need to satisfy my sweet tooth.
Of course, I created nail art to complement the "good as gold" theme, wanting to evoke the golden caramel swirls here with a watermarble. This is only the 3rd watermarble I've ever done! I did have to re-do 5 nails, but the end result is totally worth it.
I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the white base, then marbled with Sally Hansen Golden-I and The Hungry Asian Cookies and Cream.

I tried using Cookies and Cream as the base, but it wasn't opaque enough for me. After I painted a base coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, I could then use this plus the Sally Hansen gold with success.

                                               Decadent and delicious!

One last look at this manicure with a top coat below. I loved this mani and did not want to (ever) take it off!

Have you tried these ice cream bars yet? Trust me, they are amazingly good. Have you had success with water marbling?

Have a great day!

Travel Supermarket Beauty and the Beach 2 Nail Art Contest Entry

PR sample
Hello loves!!
I'm excited to show you what I created for the second annual Beauty and the Beach contest hosted by Travel Supermarket. Check out what it's all about here. When they contacted me to enter this, I had JUST booked our family beach vacation and the beach was all I was thinking about. Nice coincidence! :) In fact, this Summer my husband and I will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and we promised ourselves on our honeymoon that we would go back to our honeymoon beach for our 5th!! I'm so excited we are actually making that happen and bringing the little guys too.

One of my favorite experiences on our honeymoon was the day we went snorkeling. I'm such a scaredy it took me 20 min hanging on the side of the boat before I was ready to go under!! Thank goodness I did because WOW. We were at one of the largest barrier reefs and I can't even begin to describe the beauty. I wanted to bring some of that to my nails by creating colorful tropical fish scales representing the gorgeous fish we saw when we were under water. Let me show you! I made a step by step how I did them too.

KBShimmer Summer 2013 Collection Swatch and Review

PR sample
Hello lovelies!
It's pouring over here today but I have KBShimmers to brighten my day! And when I say brighten, I mean it. KBShimmer has once again hit it out of the park with this collection! Nine new shades and each one better than the next! Find KBShimmer on facebook, and twitter. Shop on their website or at harlowandco.org. All polishes have exceptional formula with no application issues at all. All swatches are 2 coats except the white based and neon yellow (those are 3 coats). All swatches have KBShimmer Clearly on top, top coat.  *All descriptions taken from their site. Now let's get to it and take a look :)
Totally Razzical – A red-violet shade leaning towards the purple side of raspberry. Loaded with holographic hex glitters in magenta, silver and pink.
This is a juice vibrant color and I was sorry to have to take it off! Perfect pop of color for Summer, but I'd wear it year round for sure.

Pimp My Pride – This white based polish features metallic red and blue glitters. Best worn in three coats, or 1-2 coats over your favorite white.
I love my whites and this is no exception. It's just perfection. I'm not big on bar glitter, yet these are small enough and sparse enough that it just adds a bit to the overall look, but doesn't overwhelm.

What’s Your Damage? – White crelly polish with neon green, neon pink, and black glitters.
A surprise winner for me. I feel very blessed, and I get sent a lot of polish. I'm always looking at the new ones with a critical eye.."will I ever wear this again?" If the answer is no, I give them away to friends and family and especially to children who need cheering up. I thought this would be one of those. But once I had it on, it was so different, and so striking I'm not sure I can part with it.

The Dancing Green –A almost neon green with blue undertones, accented by fuchsia, sapphire,  green and chartreuse glitters in different shapes and sizes
Green is a hard color to wear, in my opinion. Even harder than yellow for me. And yet, this one is done right and very wearable.

Totally Tubular – A blue-green crelly polish with fuchsia circle glitters in two sizes and fuchsia micro slices, aqua circle glitters and sapphire hex glitters.
Sigh. Aqua and pink. Another hit with this one! Not sure what else to say!! I think this one is going to get a lot of love.

Blinded By The Bright – Neon yellow polish with a scattering of hex glitters in the 6 primary and secondary colors
YOWZA. This IS bright!! And this is without layering over white. Well done, and I love the glitter splashes in here. This is a bottle full of fun.

Don’t Pink Twice –Bright near magenta pink with subtle blue shimmer – matte
Now for the neon mattes. These are amazing!! First of all, my camera shot these way too red so I fiddled with the color to get them closer to the actual hot/neon pink that it is in real life. And the shimmer shows in the photos, but you can't see that they are blue. So so pretty!!

24 Carrot Bold –Orange red polish with gold shimmer – matte

This polish is so orange and so bright it reflected back onto my hands making my hands appear like I spent the day slathering on self tanner. I did not. This is a bright in your face matte orange with gold shimmer. Wow!! For real. I'm dying to do nail art with these!! :)

How's that for a Summer Collection? These went on sale June 1, 2013. Did you pick up any? Which are your faves?

All the best,
Victoria
