KBShimmer Spring 2014 Chevron Dot Nail Art Easter Design

press sample
Hope you all are doing great today! We just celebrated my little ones turning five. Goes so fast, doesn't it? We had a great party and then I promptly got sick. Boo! Luckily it was a short one, but I've had this mani done for a while and wanted to get it up. Perfect for an Easter day, dots and chevrons always make me think of Easter eggs. You too?

Happy Wednesday to you! I'm in a productive mood and have some designs I created and haven't gotten a chance to post yet to show off today.
I have an interesting look I created with 4 out of the 5 shades from the Modern Family Holiday collection.

I wanted to play up the squares theme from the squares glitters in Spark the Conversation.

Dior Vernis Limited Edition Manicure Transat, Voyage Transatlantique Yacht 210, Captain 750 & Sailor 700 Swatch and Review plus Comparisons

press sample
Big things are happening in the world of Dior Vernis! For starters, superstar manicurist Anatole Rainey has recently been appointed as Dior's International Nail Designer. He has a degree in art history and I love that he has been quoted as saying that painting nails is "... about the creation of an art image." Source: I believe this means that Dior is entering into the nail art game and I'm sure excited for it. We've seen them play with embellishments with the Sparkling Powders and Jewel Manicure crystal pearls in 2013. Today's Transat Collection includes nail art stickers and I know there is a Nail Artistry Box launching in Europe very soon (not sure if a U.S. release will follow).
Adding to the excitement is the release of a new Gel Effect formula in 24 shades (To the best of my knowledge, nine of those shades are reformulations of current shades, 15 brand new shades!). I'll be reviewing the new formula/shades very soon! Anatole was quoted in “The relaunch of the Dior Vernis polish is exciting because I love color, shine, and shading. It has the finish of a gel, and the adhering power of techno polymer glass technology, “[This new formula] really grabs onto the nail.” Can't wait to tell you all my thoughts on it :)
OK now onto today's collection inspired by Transatlanic travel and the always classic nautical theme. Each shade comes boxed with a set of (clear) nail stickers with white stripes and a white CD logo, and a mini nail file to file off the extra sticker once applied to nail.

The Monthly Nail Subscription Box Review

press sample
Did you know that I don't subscribe to ANY beauty boxes? Not one. And there are so many to choose from. What always stops me is that although I like to be surprised...I don't want to waste money on something I might not like or already have. When it comes to nail polish, there is a very good chance I already have it.The main reason I love this box, is because YOU can choose which polishes you want in your box. You have the ability to pick from brand new Essie and OPI collections, an Indie and create your own. Something for everyone!
When The Monthly Nail contacted me to ask me to review their new sub box I thought, ok sure. I'm happy to recommend this one without hesitation! They are dedicated to customer satisfaction and have responded to any and every question I had in a timely manner!
There are 3 different price point boxes you can sign up for which include free shipping, and you can skip or cancel at any time.

Your box arrives like a sweetly wrapped gift.
The other side of the card details what is in the box.
I received four full sized bottles and two minis for the purpose of showing you guys. They aren't exactly what you would receive (they don't send minis!!). Read through the different levels of box and feel free to ask questions if you aren't sure how it works.
Eugene Malibu Precious Pink, White Sandbox, Bananarama
I was eager to try the Indie brand they produce as I'd never heard of it or obviously tried before. The above photo shows two coats of each of the Eugene Malibu brand (OPI 4 in the Morning on ring finger). The Indie brand all had good formulas and no issues.
In the above and below photos I added a third coat to Precious Pink and Bananarama. I was also curious to see how White Sandbox and Bananarama layered so I added 1 coat of each on either half of my OPI nail.
It's all mismatched, I know, but I'm liking the final outcome and very happy with this box.

What do you think? Interested in trying it out? If you do, would you please put "manicurator" in the notes section of your order? I do receive affiliate credits and would very much appreciate it!

Sunday, March 23, 2014 Fine Jewelry Review

A different type of post coming up. I've recently been introduced to a fine jewelry site, They contacted me to give my opinions and I'm lusting after so many pieces!

I've always had a soft spot for jewels and anything that sparkles. I'm guessing many of you do too! I'm focusing my thoughts on the "rings" offerings they carry simply because of the obvious, my site is all about nails and what better way to accentuate and bring attention to your mani than a fine piece of jewelry, right?

They have everything from delicate to quirky to statement pieces, ranging in price from $65 to $19,500. The website is easy to navigate and you can shop by designer, type of jewelry, type of metal, stone type, price range and more.

So do you wanna see my wish list?

Delicate rose gold infinity ring  $310
