Press sample
So thrilled I can bust out the Summer 2016 collections, aren't you? This Spring really flew by for me, and I still have a bunch of Spring collections to show off...but today is the day of my Paint All The Nails group link up and the theme is dots! That's right, just dots! So open ended, just the way I like...and this box of DIOR goodies landed in my mailbox last week and well...DOTS. So here is what I came up with! Hope you like it as much as I do.

Cirque Colors The Manus x Machina Collection - Metropolitan Museum Exclusive

Press sample, Sponsored

The Metropolitan Museum of Art recently unveiled it's special fashion-focused exhibition entitled Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, which explores the dichotomy between handmade (manus) and machine-made (machina) in the creation of fashion. This year's exhibit features over 150 pieces of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear dating from the 1880s to present day. Cirque Colors created a 6-piece collection inspired by the materials and production techniques that are explored throughout this exhibit.

It's an honor for me to be included in this collection release by Cirque Colors, creating nail art inspired by the fashion from this exhibit. You've seen my interest in fashion with my participation co-hosting the Nail Art Fashion Week challenge not once but twice so far. I've always been drawn to the world of haute couture and was thrilled when Annie from Cirque Colors asked me to collaborate and create nail art designs inspired by the fashion behind these shades. I did in fact get to see this exhibit first hand and it was breathtaking for me. I do recommend you see it if you are in the NYC region or will be traveling here. It runs through August 14, 2016.
Please read the detailed Cirque Blog post for the official brand announcement.

Sally Hansen Complete Care 7-in-1 Treatment Challenge with Miracle Gel Moroccan Nail Art

Press sample, Sponsored
Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing my thoughts and showing the results of the Sally Hansen Complete Care 7-in-1 Treatment challenge.

 From Sally Hansen:
This nail treatment just got even better and delivers visible nail results. Whether your nail problem is dryness, ridges, dullness, breakage, peeling or all of the above. This product helps restore dry brittle nails making them visibly healthier and beautiful. After just 3 days nails look shinier, stronger, mega-moisturized and brighter with ridges filled.
The exclusive patented formula, with Avocado oil, Sea Salt, Pomegranate Extract and Calcium immediately protects and continuously nourishes nails, helping create the perfect foundation for any manicure. The product features a new brush for an even application and dries quickly to a smooth hard finish.
This versatile treatment can be used alone or with your favorite Sally Hansen nail color when applied as a base coat or as a protective top coat. To wear it alone, simply apply two coats to clean, dry, bare nails. Use it to refresh a manicure by brushing on one thin coat to nails. It goes on smoothly and evenly for a streak free application.

Here's my completely unedited before photo. I haven't had an issue with breakage or peeling in quite some time, but there is some dryness, dullness, and I do have ridges that I ever so rarely will buff out.

Paint All The Nails Presents Monochrome with OPI, Whats Up Nails and KBShimmer - Heart Nail Art

Press sample
Hi there! This week is flying for me! How about you? My kids are home on Spring Break and how surprised was I when I realized today was Thursday! And I hadn't even started these nails and they were due today! Oh boy. Me and the rush job again! Sooo, I had not really gotten excited about the theme that the girls in my lovely nail group voted for this month - Monochrome - using only white, grey and black. Hmf. Well despite longing for a colorful theme..I had quite a few ideas running through my head of what I might do. And then the day just sneaked up on me. So this is what I created last minute and yeah...I love it! :D

Here's the design before I matted it. It looked nice. But for me, matte was the clear winner.

This manicure started off with 1 coat of OPI Alpine Snow. Then I sponged on a gradient of OPI Alpine Snow, Cement The Deal and Embrace The Gray. I top coated with KBShimmer Clearly On Top. Then I used Whats Up Nails Hearts Nail Vinyl and diluted (with Zoya Remove) OPI Who Are You Calling Bossy?!? to fill in the hearts. I intentionally wanted brushstokes and uneven color. I love the raw feel that is giving here. After all, the broken and black hearted have to show their wear and tear. Top coat again with Clearly On Top.

The final step was to use KBShimmer Oh Matte! which works like the bomb of mattifiers!

A look at the Whats Up Nail hearts vinyls. These were easy to work with and I had no issues whatsoever.

My kids thought this was animal pint at first glance...and weren't crazy about the design, but I am lovin it. I adore that I decided to go with the anti-valentine/black hearts feel. Not everyone can have the perfect cheery romance red heart kind of feeling all the time. Am I right?

NAFW 2016 Day 7 - Fall 2016 Runway Nail Art: Ladyfancynails for Chromat with Smith & Cult

Hello! So happy to show you my final design for the Nail Art Fashion Week 2016 challenge! I told you I would finish ;) Though it took way longer than scheduled, at least I can say I completed it.
The week long challenge ends with recreating a nail art design from the Fall 2016 runway. I chose this super simple design by http://ladyfancynails.com/ for Chromat

I used Smith & Cult Pillow Pie and Kings & Thieves for the free hand X.

This was pretty simple to do, with a striking result, I think.

The lovely Smith & Cult Pillow Pie. Great formula, I painted only one coat here, because I wanted to have that translucent effect.

I used a medium size nail art brush and painted on the X with Smith & Cult Kings & Thieves. I only needed to go over it a second time in a couple of spots.

What do you think? Would you wear these for an everyday look? Can you imagine them for runway nails? I sure can! I loved how they looked on my nails!

I'm so grateful to have been a co-host along with Very Emily, Lucy's Stash and lieve91 for this amazing challenge that Maria of sonailicious.com has brainstormed! I look forward to the next fashion week and seeing all your comments makes my day. xo

NAFW 2016 Day 6 - Fall 2016 Dress: Marchesa, with Smith & Cult

OK! Only one more challenge day after this and I've finally completed this amazing Nail Art Fashion Week challenge! I knew almost from the beginning that I wanted to create a Marchesa dress, one of my favorite designers and there's no question that they ruled the runway in Fall 2016! If you have any desire to be wowed by the sheer beauty of fashion, check out this summary of Marchesa Fall 2016 by www.popsugar.com

Well...these looked better in my mind..and way better before I put the dotted "flowers" in between the gradient sections. Somehow, in my opinion, these just didn't turn out the way I had hoped but I decided to post them anyway. So I fell short of my challenge for this one.

I used all Smith & Cult polishes..which I'm in love with and will one day swatch and show off on their own. Shades used: Dark Like Me, Check The Rhyme, Faultleroy, Vegas Post Apocalyptic

NAFW 2016 Day 5 - Style Icon: Cate Blanchett, with China Glaze, KBShimmer and Whats Up Nails

Press sample
Hi everyone! Bringing you Day 5 of the Nail Art Fashion Week 2016 (#NAFW2016) challenge despite it being officially over already. Today's look I actually did last..because I just knew I'd love them and not want to take them off! I was right! I'm still wearing these right now! I chose Cate Blanchett seen here wearing Maison Martin Margiela, as my style icon this year because not only is she elegant and classy, she often pushes the envelope and dares to wear designs with an edge to them and in my opinion she always pulls it off!

I was able to create this awesome design using Whats Up Nails
Honeycomb Nail Vinyls.

I know the colors aren't exactly right, but these new China Glaze Summer 2016 shades: Lime After Lime, Lip Smackin' Good, and None Of Your risky Business were sitting on my desk begging to be used and I love the way it turned out.
I started with 2 coats of the amazing KBShimmer Diamond and then Clearly On Top. After I applied the Whats Up Nails vinyl to dry nail, I used a small nail art brush to dab each China Glaze shade in, creating a somewhat patchy look. This was intentional to dull out the shade and let the blingy glitter base come through under the colors. It worked out exactly as I'd hoped.
This shade is so so grown up blingy it was hard to photograph and looks amazing as the base for this design, if I do say so :P

China Glaze Summer 2016 shades: Lime After Lime - Light bright neon lime crème , Lip Smackin' Good - Bubblicious neon pink crème, and None Of Your risky Business - Electric tangerine crème

NAFW 2016 Day 4 - Fashion Trend: Clean Lines with Lela Rose, OPI and Whats Up Nails

Press samples
Here I am on the late parade, but I'm still going to finish out this challenge! Today I have Day 4 of the Nail Art Fashion Week challenge: Fashion Trend. The trend I went with is "clean lines". I kind of made that up...but I think it works. lol. I was so enamored with this entire collection, it was hard to pick just one to recreate. I was also touched by the fact that Lela Rose's father passed away suddenly on;t two weeks before the show..and I got choked up. My own father has just been diagnosed with cancer so I've been caught up with emotions and lots of doctor appointments with him (one of the many reasons these posts are tardy!) My condolences to Lela Rose! And now onto my "clean lines" trend to honor this beautiful look!

I am pretty happy with how these turned out though I did have to do a re-do of one of the nail designs when it didn't show up on the nail like I pictured in my head.
Lela-Rose-Fall-2016-OPI-Infinite-Shine-It's-Pink-PM
I began this all OPI manicure with 2-3 coats of OPI Alpine Snow. I used Whats Up Nails Diamond Pattern nail vinyls for the Index, Thumb and Pinky nails using OPI It's Pink P.M. from Spring 2016 collection. The Ring finger I used good old fashioned striping tape (remember those?)

My middle finger nail is a simple "clean lines" design with OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw and Lost On Lombard.
