sienna BYRON BAY Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Hello! Hope your week is going well. I had the pleasure of trying out a new to me brand, and now I'll be sharing with you my swatches and review of four shades from Sienna BYRON BAY.
This Australian brand is "... as local as can be, vegan & cruelty free, we use 100% renewable soy, and we source sustainable non-native timbers from our own backyard". It is in fact those charming timber/wood caps that upon opening the package transported me to my favorite spa. The natural smell of the wood is really lovely! About the formula - "Our nail polishes are ‘non-toxic’, meaning they contain No Formaldehyde, No Toluene, No DBP, No Synthetic Camphor, No Formaldehyde Resin, No Xylene, No Tosylamide, and No Benzophenone-1. We’re Vegan and Cruelty Free. We are committed to keeping our products as clean as possible and so continue to update our formula to reflect this." So far so good, right? So I was able to pick my top 4 shades from their collection (tough to do because I love so many! But not surprisingly I gravitated toward the aquas/blues/mint range!
Sienna BYRON BAY: Wategos, Atlantic, Breeze, Utopia
I'm a huge fan of well thought out packaging, and this brand impressed me through and through. Lovely boxes and calling cards with a beautiful embossed logo.
And those bottles! I love the bottles but I love the caps even more. You bet these are going on my display racks instead of in the Helmers.
All swatches were done with sienna BYRON BAY Sticky Base Coat and Lightning Top Coat
I had no problems with application or functionality with the base coat. The top coat was easy to apply, the formula is thinner than the fast dry top coats that I am used to (Seche Vite, KBShimmer) and it did not dry as fast as those either. I know, that is the con of having a healthier formula though. My nails were dry to the touch in about 10 minutes (base coat and 3 coats of polish in most cases) but not completely dry for another 30 - 40 or so minutes so you still need to take care they don't get bumped or nicked.
sienna BYRON BAY Wategos - Clear Water Blue Nail Polish with a Crème finish
I used 3 coats for full opacity here. During application I noticed some very tiny bits, of pigment. The top coat hid it completely so there was nothing noticeable in the final manicure. When I contacted Danielle, the maker, she let me know these are all "blended by hand and sometimes they need a bit of machinery like a smoothie maker to get those bits out. Some of the pigments are 'heavier' than others which is how it happens." If any of the polishes are released with bits in them they get recalled, so I'm sure an occasional one gets by but they will take care of you if it happens.
Sienna BYRON BAY Atlantic - Pastel Sea Green Nail Polish with a Crème finish
This is my absolute "me" shade, my favorite color, ever, so I obviously love it! I used 3 coats for full coverage and otherwise had no issues. I will be returning to this shade again!
sienna BYRON BAY Breeze - Mid tone Aqua Creme Nail Polish
Oh man is this shade gorgeous! I knew I would like the previous one best, because I love the seagreen muted aquas the most but this one was just so stunning on. I did not want to take it off! This one again, had some pigment bits in it, that smooth out and become all but imperceptible after top coat.
sienna BYRON BAY Utopia - Pastel Mint Green Nail Polish with a Crème finish
This pretty shade of green was perfect in 2 coats. All four of these cremes need a top coat as they do not self level completely, or give off a shiny finish on their own.
Very minor issues aside (very tiny pigment bits in 2 shades, and not 100% self leveling) I'm fan girling this brand and looking forward to trying new shades and finishes. They have a lovely website with a large range of colors!
