The Digital Dozen Monochrome Vintage Freehand Brocade Nail Art

press sample
Hi there. So, today is the day I sadly announce my departure from the Digital Dozen nail art group. I have been with the group since day one and it was a very hard and even sentimental decision to make! You may have noticed last month's theme (monochrome) came and went and I didn't post anything for it. This month's theme (vintage) came and went and I didn't post anything for it. And the months previous to that I couldn't manage to get the full week done. I know it's time for me to move on but I've procrastinated this post. I'm incredibly grateful for the friends I've made in that close knit group of ladies. I'm incredibly grateful for all the talent, the prompts and the deadlines that made me push myself and grow as a nail artist. I decided to create a design that combined the last two themes which I missed, monochrome and vintage. And I tried to push myself with the freehand design but I'm afraid this isn't as great as I envisioned it would be.

I used the amazing Serum No 5 Gild Free for the base. (Reviewed here.)

I freehanded a vintage brocade design with Zoya Ziv (reviewed here.)

The Winstonia brushes I have been reviewing in my last few posts are of very good quality and have been working just as one would hope. I believe for this mani, I should have used a "thinner" polish than Ziv, with its ornate goodness, it is kind of tricky to create small detail work with. I also could have used a smaller nail art brush. But overall I am happy with how this turned out.

So yeah, with this post I say goodbye to the Digital Dozen, with only love in my heart. And of course it's not a true goodbye, it's just...I'll see you later. Right? We all know how to find the DD girls and I hope you will keep up with them as they are a lovely and talented group.
A special hug to my friend Debbie from the-crumpet.com who created the group and asked me to join from the get go. xoxo
