piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013

PR sample
Hello! I'm (of course) thrilled to be included this year in piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013: Celebrating the year of the blogger. piCture pOlish has asked us to create nail art using three shades they send. I got to work with Metallic Mush, Antique and Peacock.

I received these shades to work with and was pleased with how the complemented each other.

Here's the mini tutorial for how I created this geometric look. I started with two coats of Metallic Mush, which applied easily and works very well for nail art. I worked one nail at a time, placing striping tape pieces in somewhat random ways. Then I filled in with the other two shades (using the brush from the bottle) but I made sure to skip some sections so that it would create some interesting visual patterns. Once the sections were filled in, I removed the tape strips with a tweezer and moved on to the next nail.
The photo above shows the manicure before top coat went on. It all smoothed nicely with a coat of thick fast dry top coat, but Antique was a tad bit thick, and Peacock has glitters...both make using those types of polish for nail art a bit challenging.

I love mixing different textures and find these shades work well together, what do you think?
