De Stijl Inspired Nail Art with OPI Mariah Carey - Digit-al Dozen Art Week

Hello loves :)
Working our way through our "art week" I've decided to create a look that falls under "De Stijl" which literally means "the style". Piet Mondrian's work is most recognized as one of the founders of this style, but I chose to be inspired by another founder of the De Stijl movement, Georges Vantongerloo.
I used the three non glitters from OPI Mariah Carey Collection for 2013. Mariah Carey by OPI nail lacquers contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application. This promotion will be available beginning January 2013 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.
For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit www.opi.com. Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

This was very time consuming to create and I *might* swear off striping tape for the next month. I used it to create all the lines, and that is a lot of work. I love the end result though :)

I adore these colors together and this look was so so interesting. Sprung is a gorgeous shimmery copper. My favorite of the three. Easy to work with. I layered two coats. Keep in mind that this is over 2 coats of white (OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls yes, my very favorite white). Anti-bleak a deep reddish purple cream. I knew I'd love this and it did not disappoint. And the surprise of the bunch? A Butterfly Moment. I was expecting to dislike this one. It's a frosty tan nude. In my mind frosty = my Nana. But this had just enough shimmer and not too much frost to make it work. In fact, I think rose gold when I see it <3 I currently have this as a full mani on my right hand...because no...I did NOT duplicate this with my non dominant hand :P

My husband gave this one top 10 status, what do you think? Are you going to be getting any of the Mariah Carey Collection? I'll have liquid sand swatches up soon :)

Be well!
~Victoria
