Marañón Poison Frog Nail Art - Digit-al Dozen Animal Week

Hey nail polish lovers!

Another Digit-al Dozen Animal Week mani for you. I warned you yesterday you might see more frogs on here...
This guy is so stinkin cute and yes, an easy choice for a mani. If you are liking him, why don't you check out the link I provided for the photos. *I did NOT take these frog photos* The photographer is so talented and has a lot of beautiful froggies :D

"This little polka-dotted guy is actually one of the most distinctive poisonous frogs. Adults are black or brown, sporting fashionable white “polka-dots” that cover their entire body. This spotting is highly variable from frog to frog, with the exception of a single spot under the chin and an oval spot on the underside of the thighs. The species is known from a single location in the vicinity of Santa Rosa, Cajamarca, Peru and often lives in giant bromeliad flowers. Unfortunately, because of land destruction for coffee farms in the area around Santa Rosa, this species is losing its habitat and becoming severely threatened in the wild. Humans have also begun to want these beautiful amphibians as terrarium pets. These threats have caused the IUCN to classify the spotted frog as endangered by the IUCN." Here's my inspiration PHOTO CREDITS flickr.com/photos/phrakt :

 Zoya Purity, Dea and Angelina
I thought Zoya Angelina was a bit too dark for this mani, so I custom mixed it with Dea to get this shade. I applied 2 coats, and then tried sponging a bit more to get the texture of the frog skin. That didn't work out so well, so I ended up top coating with HK Girl. I've included 2 glossy pics, but really think this one is better matte.

The last two photos are with Essie matte top coat. Love how these turned out. Super simple and they look really fun on the nail :)

Last photo perfect for pinning and sharing if you love frogs how I love frogs :D Enjoy!

Be well!
