Some details and then a whole lot of photos!!! PixieDust applied easily! Surprisingly easy actually!!! Zoya recommends no base coat and no top and apply 1-3 thin coats, letting each coat dry before applying the next. They also said dry time is a little bit longer. I experienced NO problems in application or dry time. Although it takes longer to dry...because you are not using a fast dry top coat..I didn't experience longer than normal dry times. It's TEXTURED! It's not rough, like I thought it would be. I didn't actually think I'd like having this on my nails, but once it was on...the sparkle and the unique formula won me over :D
Zoya Chyna - two coats. No base, no top coat.

The sparkle on each and every one of these is insane (and hard to capture in still photos)!!!! And shows like crazy, even in low light. Each and every one of these is fit for a party :)

And two pics with topcoat.  Looks GREAT. If you want to wear it this way, you may have to use 2 coats of top coat, because this did sink in a bit. It really brings out the sparkles for each polish when top coated.

 Zoya Dahlia - two coats

 Top coated!

 Zoya London - 3 coats

  Top coated!

 Zoya Vespa - 3 coats

 Top coated!

 Zoya Nyx - 3 coats

 And...top coated!

And lastly, this is Zoya Godiva, 3 coats. The one I thought I'd like the least...I didn't want to take off. It's like the perfect nude sparkle. I just kept thinking beach. Pure perfect sparkly sand! :) It was really hard to capture the sparkle. It's crazy sparkles in real life!

 Top coated!

So....tell me? Are you going to try PixieDust? Which is (are) your favorites?

All the best,
Victoria

I just might be the only one who loves them without top coat.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about these but um...I'm kind of in love. with all of them. Which is bad because I'm in love with the Spring 2013 Truly collection too. crap, my wallet is already crying.
I'm curious about removal too. How bad was it?

  21. I LOVE Chyna with top coat, it's a must have for me. Nyx is my second choice, and I'm sure I'll buy it too since I like how it looks both with and without top coat. I'm really surprised that I like most of these (the exception being Godiva, something about it is just getting me).

  22. Oh, my God! I surely AM going to try it (them), only if they send to Italy! :-) Gorgeous type of nail polish, I've never seen something like this before! You made beautiful swatches! :-) My favourites are Dahlya and Nyx, but the truth is that I want them all! :-)

  23. So beautiful, can't wait to get them all; especially because you indicated the formula was not hard to work with.

  25. Interesting that Zoya AND OPI both hit in this sandy texture thing for release same time - both come out in Jan with Zoya having a ton more color options over OPI's - though I did see some other OPIs in the NOPI line that will have the sandy texture so maybe total between the 2 lines Zoya and OPI parent company are equal in the # of shades out there. Since I am not who is not good with grit on my nails, this probably won't be for me. I am sure curious how the removal of this stuff is?????? Is is hard to get off like glitter? I only like them with the clear top coat. The green and the cornflower blue appeal to me color wise right now because I am looking for a lift from all the holiday intense shades and yet we had zip fall where I live this year and until mid Nov I felt stupid wearing anything dark. I am going to wait until I can get into a retail place that sells the OPI to touch them samples to see if I think I could deal with the grit factor before I would order any of these Zoyas - but I like the way the Zoyas look over the liquid sand ones from OPI

  26. Beautiful, and beautiful photos! How is removal?

    ReplyDelete
  27. wow - these are just the most amazing swatches you have ever done - pure perfection xxx

  28. wonderful photos - I love all the colors xx

  29. Cool collection and great swatches! I think this is one of those things where I will have to try it for myself to see how I like it. Often something is very different in person than in photos. On another note, I feel like we just got inundated with so many awesome winter/holiday collections, now there's a crop of spring collections popping up to tempt me. And the holidays aren't even over! Sigh!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Your swatches are great.. I'm not sure how I feel about the textured look, but I definitely like them with topcoat :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I keep looking at swatches and I just can't decide what I think yet. Some swatches make me say "yes" others have me saying "no" :) haha I definitely want to try at least one. Sometimes they don't look like liquid sand, they look like a mistake lol :)

  32. Thanks for the preview posting! The new 2013 Zoya PixieDust shades are very unique indeed. Matte, Sparkly and Textured - not what we usually see in nail polish (Glossy and Slick). As to the questions on removal, we've found them to be easier to remove than glitter formulas. Simply hold the polish on a cotton pad to the nail for a few moments and then it will slip off without too much rubbing. Remember to apply the color to a perfectly clean nail and to allow a bit of extra dry time - after it looks matte you are good to go (BONUS - they wear longer than traditional matte formulas). Also of note, the texture is funky, fresh and most of all interesting but nothing so rough that it will snag clothing.

  33. I allowed my myself to buy 3 of these and I can't decide which... Which ones were your favorites?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Oh, that's such a personal decision! Based on your own (color) preferences. My favorites are Dahlia, Godiva and Nyx. <3

  34. Thanks a lot! I was on the fence about Godiva (for fear ov VNL) but I am definitely getting it now.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Nyx looks great, both with and without the top coat. :)

  36. I found glitter chips faster on my nails, did these chip easily?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi, I kept one of them on for a few days and I had no chips :)

  37. May I ask how many coats of top coat you used to get those so smooth? =)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Joseybird, I used one thick coat...but they might need another coat after that "sinks" in. I suppose it also depends on which top coat you use, but I think 1-2 coats would do it.

    2. WOW thanks!! I think I need these now....

  38. I love all of them except Godiva... and I'm not so keen on the polishes without topcoat, I feel they look a bit too grainy for me but with the topcoat they look incredible! Lovely photos xx

    ReplyDelete
  39. They are so pretty! I love them all!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Your swatches are beautiful! These are very interesting and unique polishes. It's nice to hear that these aren't too rough, because they seem like they would be. I love Nyx and Godiva. I ordered Nyx first in the Zoya promo to see how I like it.

  41. Thanks so much for the wonderful swatches and review! I am dying to try these, but don't want to spend the money yet because I'm worried about one thing... I don't think I'd mind that they're textured but I HATE when ragged edges/surfaces catch on my clothes. Did this happen at all, even once? Is the texture sharp or just lumpy? How does it work when you "wrap your tips"?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The texture is a lot like an emery board. It didn't snag my clothing while I wore it.

  42. They look really pretty and I will probably pick all of them up. Only thing - they look a lot like Mariah Carey/OPI's liquid sand, just more monotone than the Mariah collection. Still, thanks for the swatches!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow, Godiva does look like sand! And Chyna? WOW!

    ReplyDelete
  44. How did you snag these already? Zoya told me they didn't even have the media samples available yet! :)

    1. Hi Stacy. Zoya sent these to me to do preview swatches.

  45. I get super jealous looking at these swatches! lol . I am (im)patiently waiting for my order, which Zoya hasn't even started to ship out yet. Zoya' s colors are more wearable than OPI' s. I like the Liquid Sands, (I have all 4) but the bright, vivid colors tend to compete with the crazy sparkle, making them a bit much - especially the blue and pink. I did find it interesting that both companies added a periwinkle (my FAVORITE color!) to their collection. I' m curious to see if they compliment each other, and will work well together in an ombre effect.

    1. Hey!! Did you get yours yet I hope? I like the OPI too, but agree, the Zoya's are more wearable :)

  46. So excited for this collection! Can't quite decide which ones. Chyna, Godiva and London for sure. Thanks for the beautiful swatches!

  49. I bought Godiva, am wearing it now and LOVE IT!!!!! Just ordered London tonight. After I put the Godiva on I knew I needed another shade! Might get Nyx later on too.

  50. Love your swatches! (Just started getting into nail polish, so I appreciate all the photos and insight!) Are these as textured as the OPI Mariah Carey Line? I just bought those and I'm kinda disappointed by the colors of most of them once dry.

I'm really curious about the Zoya Dahlia! Long, long time ago (like, High School Goth days) Manic Panic used to make a textured black nail polish that I loved (Yes, Manic Panic made a polish-god I'm dating myself). It's still in my heart to find a replacement for that black polish, but I gotta know, how textured is Dahlia?

  51. I bought all of them and got to swatch today. They are ALL AMAZING!!
