Hello nail polish loves!
I have one of my favorite Indie lines to show you today :) Tough as Nails continues to impress me with formula and gorgeous creations. In particular "Shut Your Sweet Potato Pie Hole". Um. omg. Just OMG I love her. Here's some details and let me get to the photos! :D Purchase Tough as Nails at their Etsy shop. Use code FALL10 for 10% off of your purchase! Code is only good through this Sunday (October 28, 2012) so make sure to get your order in! Keep up with what is going on with their Facebook page.
This description is taken from the Etsy shop: "Shut Your Sweet Potato Pie Hole is packed with various shapes and
sizes
of orange and gold glitters in a shimmery jelly orange base. This does
contain holographic glitter as well as bar glitter. Shut Your
Sweet Potato Pie Hole does not have time to be bothered with your silly
boy problems, reasons why you can't help set the table, or how you're
just so tired lately. She is just too darn busy cooking up a storm in
the kitchen for Thanksgiving dinner!"
It's a LIMITED
EDITION so if you love her snap it up now. LE's make me weak in the
knees by the way. They make all rational thought and rational spending
(otherwise known as NOT spending) fly out the window.
From her shop again: "The Great Butter Rebellion contains different shades of gold micro glitter and micro flakes. The
Great Butter Rebellion is based on the actual Great Butter Rebellion,
which occurred at Harvard University in 1766, right before the American
Revolution, and was led by Asa Dunbar, the grandfather of Henry David
Thoreau."
I think these look fantastic together and perfectly Autumn-esque!! Formula and application for both are perfect. No problems. Both are shown with 2 coats and HK Girl topcoat. This just might be my Thanksgiving mani!
From the shop description: "Damn Gurl is a glitter topcoat packed with various sizes and shapes of
purple, fuschia, and pink glitters. Please note that she includes
glitter shards and holographic glitter.
Damn Gurl is the one
that every woman wants to be and every man wants to be with. She's sexy
with an edge and can usually be found in very high platform heels at a
bar, trying to figure out who she's going to let buy her a drink. Damn Gurl is best worn layered over a base color, as it would take around 4 coats to on its own to reach full opacity."
I obviously didn't read the shop description before I swatched this :P I didn't use "undies" so this is showing you just 2 coats. It looked great in real life, but my recommendation is to layer over a color or add another coat for more opacity. It did have some shards that did not lay flat and I had to pick them off. There were about 4-5 of those. I love the hot pink flashes of shards in here though, so it's worth it :)
OK! That's it for today. I'm off to get my hair cut...chopping off about 5 inches. EEK wish me luck :P
Hope you all have a great weekend!
