Abstract Nail Art Challenge - Half-moons
Hello ladies and gents!
I'm happy to show you Day 7's half moons today. In fact, it IS making me happy. I just love the colors, gives me such a Spring/Summer feel. I tried out at least 5 color combos for this challenge, and everyone in my family..including my 3 yr olds, picked this one. So..I bring you the winning combo!
This was my first time creating half moons and I'm loving how it looks. I think the thumb and ring finger turned out perfectly! I'll know for next time, that the rounded moon shape needs a little bit more "rounding" on the other fingers.
I started with base coat and 2 coats of China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint with went on without any trouble. Once completely dry, I used curved french tips tape to guide my half moon shape while I painted on China Glaze For Audrey, which is gorgeous and covers effortlessly with one coat. **swoon** I did one nail at a time and while wet, used my smallest dotting tool to pick up one glitter at a time and carefully placed in its spot. Not difficult if you have a steady hand, but painstaking for sure.
I think you will be seeing a lot more loose glitter on my nails. It looks so cool :D Hope you have a wonderful day!!
Look for Day 8 from this challenge on Friday and please check out what the other lovely ladies came up with!
So glad to have you reading!

DeleteThis is beautiful! The colors are wonderful...and I love the loose glitter. I have yet to try the loose glitter look, but this may have inspired me =)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Can't wait to see how you use it.
DeleteVictoria.....take that stupid verification code off. Everytime I try to comment, it takes me three tries. I am starting to feel like I have dyslexia. Those things seem to get harder every day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, I didn't even know I had it. Let me know next time..I think I successfully turned it off. Now I will blame you when all the spam-bots take over my comments :P
DeleteI really, REALLY like liKE LIKE this!

ReplyDeleteLooks great! I did a half moon one time with french guides. I think the reinforcer circles work better for this kind of manicure. I love the glitter - I've been afraid to try that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alyson! I kept getting bleeding polish and an unclean line with the reinforcers :(
