31DC: Day 7 - Black and White (Bottle splatter nail art)

YAY. Week one is complete!! I thought a lot about what to do for black and white as it is usually such a dramatic look and well, the color choice has already been made...so you can only be creative as to what you want to do with those colors. I wanted to go for something really complex..but then my little man got sick and I needed something that wouldn't take too much time to do or to dry. GOT IT. I turned to my spray bottle splatter that you can see here and here. I'm thrilled because I think this one turned out even better than the first two times I tried it :) What do you think?

So, I started with 2 coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (my favorite white by the way) then poured some Milani Black Magic into my spray bottle and added some thinner and shake shake shake and spray!

This is three very easy sprays from the bottle. Clean up was fairly easy too because I coated my hand in vaseline first (make sure not to get any on the nail though)! Here's another one I don't want to take off, it looks even cooler in real life, in my opinion ;)

OK, here's the list. I'm attempting to do one each day...but no promises.

Hope you will enjoy this madness :P

  10. LOVE THIS! Would like to try this! Can the bottle be used again afterwards, or would the nail polish clog it up?

    1. Hi! I actually used the same bottle that I did my green splatter in. In fact, the green was still in there...so I "rinsed" out the green with acetone (that part was the messiest part of this mani!). And sprayed the acetone through the pump a few times. So, no...nothing got clogged :)

  29. By far the best splatter manicure I've ever seen!! I've got just the right spray bottle at home I've got in mind... just need to finish the product inside it now :) Can I ask a stupid question, but what did you use for the "thinner"? was it acetone? or was it something like Seche Restore? I must give this a go myself! xx

  31. It reminds me of a friend's dog she had when we were growing up...can you guess the dog breed? LOL. Her name was Pebbles and yes, she was a Dalmatian. Such a sweet and loving dog! Love the nails. I might have to try that sometime.
